Melbourne is the capital and most populous city in the state of Victoria, and the second most populous city in Australia.It is a leading financial centre in Australia, as well as the Asia-Pacific region and has been ranked the world's most livable city since 2011. Melbourne is rated highly in the areas of education, entertainment, healthcare, research and development, tourism and sports. Here I listed some magnificent places to visit in Melbourne.

The Princess Theatre is a 1488-seat theatre in Melbourne's East End Theatre District, Australia. It is listed by the National Trust of Australia and is on the Victorian Heritage Register. With her magnificent facade, domed roofs and marble foyer, this Victorian-era entertainment palace also boasts two dining rooms, the Melba and Marriner, for pre-show nibbles.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is an Australian sports stadium located in Yarra Park, Melbourne, Victoria. It is the 13th-largest stadium in the world, the largest in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere, the largest stadium for playing cricket, and has the highest light towers at any sporting venue. The  MCG is within walking distance to the east of the city's CBD and is easily accessible by both public transport and by foot. It is part of the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct.

The Shrine of Remembrance, located in Kings Domain on St Kilda Road, Melbourne, Australia was built as a monument dedicated to all those who have served in the armed conflicts and peacekeeping operations in which Australia has participated.Melbourne's most iconic building, the Shrine draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, to remember, to contemplate, to admire or to visit as tourists.

The Yarra Valley is the name given to the region surrounding the Yarra River in Victoria, Australia. The river originates approximately 90 kilometres east of the Melbourne central business district and flows towards it and out into Port Phillip Bay. The Yarra Valley has the enviable reputation as one of the world's great food and wine regions. With wineries at the heart of the visitor offering you will discover cafes and restaurants, art galleries, markets, nature walks, bustling villages and a multitude of attractions
scattered throughout the regions.  With stunning mountain views, a pristine environment and all on Melbourne's door step, you should visit this beautiful place.

Albert Park and Albert Park Lake are situated in the City of Port Phillip, Victoria, Australia, 3 km south of the Melbourne CBD. The park encompasses 2.25 square kilometres (225 ha; 560 acres) of parkland including  Albert Park Lake (0.49 square kilometres (49 ha; 120 acres)[2]) and provides numerous  ovals, sporting facilities, the Albert Park Public Golf Course, a 5-kilometre (3.1 mi) walking track around the lake, and the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit.

The National Gallery of Victoria, popularly known as the NGV, is an art museum in Melbourne. It is Australia’s oldest and pre-eminent public art museum, hosting blockbuster exhibitions and one of the world’s finest art collections. The NGV operates across two sites: NGV International, located on St Kilda Road in the heart of the Melbourne Arts Precinct of Southbank, and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, located nearby at Federation Square.
